The statements below offer a concise summary of key doctrinal beliefs related to God, His offer of salvation, and his standards for believers and the church. For those seeking a more comprehensive understanding of these beliefs, the Baptist Faith and Message is recommended.

The Bible
The inspired word of God

We believe the Bible to be God's inspired, authoritative, inerrant word by which God reveals Himself, His nature, and His eternal plans to man. We believe Scripture should generally be interpreted literally, carefully considering the original language, unless the context, writing style, and comparison to the whole of Scripture direct us otherwise.

The Beginning
God is the Creator and Sustainer

We believe in a literal Genesis account of creation, the fall of man, and the Great Flood.  Any attempt to interpret these events figuratively, allegorically, or as an incomplete record creates an interpretive challenge throughout Scripture and conflicts with the Gospel.

The Trinity
God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

We believe there is one and only one true living God, who reveals Himself to mankind as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Ruler of the universe. He is eternal and sovereign and is holy, perfect, and complete.  God is all powerful and all knowing; and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future.

Salvation
God's plan for redemption

Salvation is wholly a work of God, achieved by the sacrificial death of Christ and the redeeming work of the Holy Spirit that draws us to God. It is by grace through faith alone and not of any works of man. Following salvation, we are preserved and sustained by the Holy Spirit for service to God’s kingdom and the spread of the Gospel until the day we are taken, either by death or the rapture of the church, to our eternal home in Heaven.

The Ordinances
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

Christian baptism involves immersing a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This act symbolizes the believer's faith in Jesus Christ's death, burial, and resurrection, representing their own death to sin and new life in Christ. It also serves as a testimony to their faith in the resurrection of the dead.  The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act where church members partake of bread and wine to remember Jesus's death and look forward to His return.

The Family
Gods' foundational institution of society

God established the family as the cornerstone of human society, consisting of individuals connected by marriage, blood, or adoption. Marriage unites one man and one woman in a lifelong covenant. It is God’s special gift to illustrate the union between Christ and His church.

Husbands and wives are equally valued before God, as both are made in His image. The marriage relationship reflects God’s relationship with His people. A husband is to love his wife as Christ loves the church, with the responsibility to provide for, protect, and lead his family. A wife is to submit to her husband’s servant leadership, just as the church submits to Christ. Equal in God’s image, she is called to respect her husband and assist in managing the household and nurturing the next generation.

From conception, children are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. Parents should model God’s pattern for marriage and teach their children spiritual and moral values. By leading through example and loving discipline, they guide their children to make choices based on biblical truth. Children are to honor and obey their parents.

Social Issues
Upholding God's holy standards

We believe that we are called to love our neighbors and our enemies, to be charitable, to live in peace as much as possible with those around us, and to share the Gospel with all; however, we must not be loving, charitable, and peaceable to the point of compromising God’s moral standard or His commandments. We must speak the truth against social issues such as abortion, LGBTQIA+ movement, and other social ideas that contradict Scripture. We speak these truths to honor God and further the Great Commission.
